Gail Hagen

Gail Morris was born in 1946 in McAllen, Texas, the only child of Robert and Mary Morris. After Robert Morris was killed in an accident in 1950, Mary and Gail moved to Magnolia, Arkansas, to be closer to Mary’s family. Growing up in a small town with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins nearby was a happy experience.

After graduating from high school, Gail attended Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University). While in college, she worked as a secretary to the Dean of Education and a sales clerk at the local bakery. She graduated in 1968 with a BA in Office Administration and took a secretarial position with Southern Extrusions Company in Magnolia.

Gail married Mike Hagen in 1974 and they moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where their daughter, Amy Leigh, was born in 1976. The family moved to N. Little Rock in 1977 and joined Indian Hills Methodist Church. They welcomed the birth of their second daughter, Lori Anne, in 1979. Gail enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, volunteering as a teacher’s aid in elementary school, and working with Girl Scouts.

In 1989 Gail decided it was time to re-enter the work force and took a position as secretary to Richard Beard, a telephony consultant. Six months later, Network Services Group, Inc., a commercial telephone installation and maintenance company, was formed. Her position evolved into Office Manager/Bookkeeper for NSG and its sister company, Network Data Services, a computer networking company.

Gail and Mike divorced in 1997.

Gail’s greatest joy is her two daughters and her grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail. She is fortunate that Lori lives nearby in Little Rock and Amy and her family now live in Magnolia where her son-in-law, Eric Plummer, is Chief of Police at Southern Arkansas University. Any time spent with her family is very precious to her.

Her hobbies include reading and counted cross-stitch. She is a relatively new member of the Builders Class and serves on the Communion Committee, Altar Arts and Wedding Guild.
